Alexander workshop + Doubt

Doubt is well underway at Interplayers...in fact, you have only one weekend left to catch it! Reviews were wonderful (I'll post them a little later) and tickets are going fast!

I mentioned an Alexander workshop I was taking to my castmates, Aaron Murphy (Father Flynn) & Rebecca M. Davis (Mrs. Muller)...and they decided to take it with me! It made for a long Saturday (workshop, 2:00 show, 8:00 show), but we found it very useful and fun -- as well as a perfect cast bonding activity! In fact, we're trying to set up another workshop with just the cast sometime soon. William Conable (Master class teacher, pictured at right) taught me several things about myself...my body map regarding my feet and my knees specifically was wrong. One example would be that if I were to draw my skeleton, my feet in relationship to my legs would be an "L" shape, when in actuality I have a large heel bone that I never use to balance my weight (go ahead, check out a skeleton foot!). I suppose it's my dance training to stand on the balls of my feet or my toes to remain at-the-ready, but of course, I don't always need to be dancing! Hopefully I can keep going with my Alexander training!

Final days of Doubt at Interplayers are:
  • Wednesday, November 4 at 7:30pm (Talkback following)
  • Thursday, November 5 at 7:30pm
  • Friday, November 6 at 8:00pm
  • Saturday, November 7 at 2:00pm AND 8:00pm
